Aredia Drug Interactions

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, aminoglycoside antibiotics, and diuretics may potentially interact with Aredia. Drug interactions may occur that could lead to an increased risk for kidney damage or low blood calcium levels. To help prevent Aredia interactions, be sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medicines you are taking.

Aredia Drug Interactions: An Overview

Aredia® (pamidronate disodium) can potentially interact with a few different medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to Aredia interactions include:
 
  • Aminoglycoside antibiotics, such as:
o Amikacin (Amikin®)
o Gentamicin
o Kanamycin (Kantrex®)
o Neomycin (Neo-Fradin®)
o Streptomycin
o Tobramycin
  • Diuretics, such as:
o Triamterene (Dyrenium®) or triamterene/HCTZ (Dyazide®, Maxzide®)
  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as:
o Ibuprofen (Motrin®, Advil®)
o Ketoprofen (Orudis®)
