Aromasin Drug Interactions

When certain medications, such as oral contraceptives, estrogens, or some anticonvulsants, are taken with Aromasin, drug interactions may occur. These interactions can decrease the effectiveness of Aromasin and your healthcare provider may need to increase your Aromasin dosage. To prevent Aromasin drug interactions from occurring, talk to your healthcare provider before combining Aromasin with any other medications.

 

An Overview of Aromasin Drug Interactions

Aromasin® (exemestane) can potentially interact with other medications. Some of these medicines that may lead to Aromasin drug interactions include:
 
  • Certain anticonvulsants, including:
o Carbamazepine (Epitol®, Equetro™, Tegretol®, Tegretol XR®)
o Fosphenytoin (Cerebyx®)
o Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
o Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)

Certain Anticonvulsants
Taking Aromasin with certain anticonvulsants may decrease the level of Aromasin in your blood, perhaps decreasing its effectiveness. Your healthcare provider may need to increase your Aromasin dosage.
