Halaven Chemotherapy Information

HalavenTM (eribulin mesylate) is available only by prescription and is used to treat breast cancer. This chemotherapy medicine is not appropriate for everyone; your healthcare provider needs complete information on your medical history and what medications you are taking before prescribing Halaven.

Although some people tolerate this medicine quite well, most people will develop side effects. Some of the most common reactions include fatigue, nerve problems, and low levels of certain white blood cells.

Belonging to a drug class known as microtubule inhibitors, Halaven works by preventing cell division and, eventually, causing the cell to die. It is administered intravenously (through an IV) on day 1 and day 8 of a 21-day cycle.
