Docefrez Drug Interactions

P-glycoprotein (Pgp) Inhibitors
P-glycoprotein is a protein found in the body. One of its roles is to help remove substances, such as medications, from the tissues in the body so they can be excreted through the urine or feces. Pgp helps remove Docefrez from the body. Certain other medications known as Pgp inhibitors decrease the activity of Pgp.
Combining Docefrez with one of these Pgp inhibitors may cause Docefrez to be removed more slowly, potentially increasing the amount of the drug in your body. This could increase your risk for serious side effects. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor you more closely for side effects if you use Docefrez with a Pgp inhibitor.
Platinum Analogues
Platinum analogues may increase the risk for bone marrow suppression and low blood cell counts when given in combination with taxane medications, including Docefrez. There is some thought that giving the taxane before the platinum analogue may help reduce the severity of this interaction.
Sipuleucel-T may be less effective if used in combination with Docefrez. Talk to your healthcare provider about this possible interaction before using these medicines together.
