Fareston Drug Interactions

Before you begin treatment with Fareston, your healthcare provider will need to know about all vitamins, supplements, and medications you are taking. Potentially serious drug interactions may occur when Fareston is taken with certain antiseizure medications, St. John's wort, or antibiotics, just to name a few. Some of these combinations may lead to heart rhythm problems or dangerous bleeding.

An Overview of Interactions With Fareston

Fareston® (toremifene citrate) can potentially react with a number of other medications. Some of the products that may lead to drug interactions with Fareston include but are not limited to:
 
  • Aminoglutethimide (Cytadren®)
  • Certain antibiotics, including clarithromycin (Biaxin®) and telithromycin (Ketek®)
  • Certain antifungal medicines, such as:
    • Itraconazole (Sporanox®)
    • Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)
    • Voriconazole (Vfend®)
