Femara and BreastfeedingIt is unclear if Femara passes through breast milk in humans and what its effects, if any, may be on a nursing infant. However, since the drug does affect hormones, it could potentially cause serious side effects to a young infant. Because everyone's situation is different, you should be sure to talk with your healthcare provider about Femara and breastfeeding so that the two of you can make a shared decision that is right for you.
