While most people who take Xeloda® (capecitabine) will not experience any problems, this drug can cause negative reactions. Some of the most common problems with Xeloda include side effects, such as:
 
If side effects do occur, they tend to be minor and are usually easy to treat. However, there are some potentially serious Xeloda reactions that require immediate medical attention. Make sure to contact your healthcare provider right away if you experience problems such as:
 
  • Coughing up blood
  • A fever or other signs of an infection
  • Severe pain or redness of the hands or feet.
