Perjeta Drug Interactions Explained

People who are taking an anthracycline medication or those who have ever taken an anthracycline in the past may have a higher risk for heart problems like congestive heart failure with Perjeta. The benefits of Perjeta must be weighed against the increased risks in these situations.
Would Perjeta interact with other medications besides anthracyclines? It does not appear that the possibility has been explored thoroughly. The prescribing information simply states that Perjeta does not interact with docetaxel (Taxotere®) or trastuzumab (Herceptin®), the two medications that are usually combined with Perjeta. No other interactions are specifically mentioned. It is possible that interactions may be discovered in the future.
