Who Should Not Take Tamoxifen?

You should not take tamoxifen if you:
 
  • Are allergic to tamoxifen, Nolvadex, or any inactive components used to make tamoxifen. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
     
  • Have had a blood clot, including deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.
     
  • Are taking an anticoagulant ("blood thinner") medication.
