Taxol® (paclitaxel) is a medication that can be prescribed to treat certain types of breast cancer, lung cancer, and ovarian cancer. It stops cancer cells from growing and multiplying by interfering with certain structures in the cell. Taxol is given through an IV, and each infusion is given over a one-hour period. You should talk to your healthcare provider before taking this medication if you have any infection, any allergies, or a history of low white blood cell levels.
