Taxol for Ovarian Cancer

Taxol® (paclitaxel) is a type of chemotherapy used for several different forms of cancer, including advanced ovarian cancer. When used for this type of cancer, Taxol may be used alone or in combination with another medicine, cisplatin (Platinol®). It is given through an IV, and each infusion session lasts an hour.

Taxol is part of a group of chemotherapy medications called taxanes. By interfering with certain cell structures, the medication helps keep cancer cells from growing and multiplying.
