Taxol® (
paclitaxel) is a type of chemotherapy approved for the following types of cancer:
The medicine is given through an IV over a one-hour period. Depending on the specific type of cancer being treated, Taxol is either used alone or in combination with other drugs.
While Taxol can kill both healthy and cancerous cells, it has a greater effect on cells that are multiplying rapidly. Generally, cancer cells multiply more rapidly than healthy cells and are, therefore, more affected by this drug.
