Taxotere^® (docetaxel) is a medication licensed to treat various types of cancer, such as breast cancer, lung cancer, and prostate cancer. The prescription drug stops the cancer cells from growing and multiplying by interfering with the structures of the cells. Taxotere is administered intravenously (through an IV). The dosage of Taxotere your healthcare provider prescribes will vary depending on several factors, such as the type of cancer you have, your weight and height, other medical conditions you may have, and other medications you may be taking. Among the conditions you should let your healthcare provider know about prior to taking Taxotere are any allergies, congestive heart failure, or a history of low white blood cells.
