Taxotere (Docetaxel) Drug Information
Taxotere® (docetaxel) is a prescription medicine used to treat breast cancer, prostate cancer, and several other types of cancer. It is given intravenously (through an IV) and is approved for adults only. The most common side effects include hair loss, anemia, and low levels of white blood cells.
Because not everyone can safely use this medication, it's important to fully understand the safety information on this product before starting treatment with Taxotere; this includes things like possible drug interactions and side effects. Also, let your healthcare provider know if you have any other medical conditions, such as:
- Congestive heart failure
- An infection
- A history of low white blood cells.
