The chemotherapy drug Taxotere® (docetaxel) is administered intravenously (through an IV infusion). It is typically given at a healthcare provider's office, an "infusion center," or a hospital. Each infusion is given over a one-hour period.
Although Taxotere comes in one strength, there are many dosing regimens. For example, Taxotere is often used in combination with other chemotherapy drugs for the most effective treatment. Your particular dosing regimen will vary, depending on a number of factors, including:
- The type of cancer being treated
- Your height and weight
- Other medications you may be taking
- Other medical conditions you may have.
