Xeloda and BreastfeedingStudies have shown that Xeloda does pass through breast milk in mice, but it is unclear if the medication passes through breast milk in humans. Due to the potentially serious side effects that could occur in the nursing infant, the manufacturer of Xeloda recommends that women not take the medication when breastfeeding. If you are taking Xeloda and breastfeeding at the same time, talk to your healthcare provider about what is best for your situation.
