What If I Take an Overdose?

People who are given too much zoledronic acid may have overdose symptoms that could include:
 
  • Low blood calcium (hypocalcemia)
  • Low blood magnesium (hypomagnesemia)
  • Low blood phosphate (hypophosphatemia).
     
If you happen to take too much, seek immediate medical attention.

Who Makes Zoledronic Acid?

Both brands of zoledronic acid (Reclast and Zometa) are made by Novartis Pharmaceuticals. Generic versions are made by other manufacturers.

Zoledronic acid is available in the following strengths:
 
  • Zoledronic acid 4 mg per 5 mL (Zometa)
  • Zoledronic acid 4 mg per 100 mL (Zometa)
  • Zoledronic acid 5 mg per 100 mL (Reclast).
