Zoledronic Acid Drug Interactions

Zoledronic acid can potentially interact with a number of different medications (see Drug Interactions With Zoledronic Acid).
 

What If I Take an Overdose of Zoledronic Acid?

People who are given too much zoledronic acid may have overdose symptoms that could include:
 
  • Low blood calcium (hypocalcemia)
  • Low blood magnesium (hypomagnesemia)
  • Low blood phosphate (hypophosphatemia).
     
If you happen to overdose on zoledronic acid, seek immediate medical attention.

Who Makes Zoledronic Acid?

Both brands of zoledronic acid (Reclast and Zometa) are made by Novartis Pharmaceuticals.
 

Strengths of Zoledronic Acid

Zoledronic acid is available in the following strengths:
 
  • Zoledronic acid 4 mg per 5 mL (Zometa)
  • Zoledronic acid 5 mg per 100 mL (Reclast).
     

Generic Zoledronic Acid

At this time, zoledronic acid is not available in generic form (see Generic Reclast or Generic Zometa).
